Zonta Club offers scholarships, awards

The Zonta Club of Conejo Valley is accepting applications for scholarships and the Young Women in Public Affairs award. The deadline to apply is Wed., Feb. 7.

Five $1,000 scholarships are awarded to women seeking to acquire additional education and skills in order to re-enter the workforce to help care for their families.

Applicants for the Young Women in Public Affairs award should be ages 16 to 20. They're asked to "reflect on their lives, their commitment to the communities in which they live, and the role models that have inspired them to become involved in their community or in a specific prospective career," according to a club spokesperson.

Zonta Club of Conejo Valley supports Zonta International service projects, the local Transitional Homes for Battered Families, Senior Concerns, Manna and Interface Children Family Services, and awards local and national scholarships to college and graduate students.
