Those who deny global warming have their heads in the sand

It never ceases to amaze me how folks like Mr. Van de Walle ("Global warming a hoax that's promoted by media," T.O. Acorn letters, Jan. 25) try to deny the fact that the planet is warming by employing tricks like obfuscation or bait and switch.

For example, in his letter Mr. Van de Walle states that global warming is a myth and hoax, yet he goes on to cite an actual period of warming that occurred between A.D. 800 and 1300.

Further, as his ilk usually does, he talks about global warming, but then, in mid argument, switches to man-made global warming.

I find it interesting that he does not mention the proven increase in greenhouse gases or the fact that polar ice caps and glaciers are melting.

Only those who have their heads in the sand refuse to accept that the planet's climate is changing.
