+Two free demonstrations of Internet use and search techniques will be offered. A beginner-level class will be from 10 to 11:45 a.m. Tues., Feb. 6. Basic features and functions of the Internet will be introduced, with an emphasis on the Web as an information resource and connection to the world. An intermediate-level class titled "How Do I Find It on the Internet" will be presented from 10 to 11:45 a.m. Tues., Feb. 13. The class will cover search engines, subject guides and specific topics related to health, travel and government information. Prerequisites are experience with a mouse and ability to work with Windows. Class sizes are limited, so registration for both classes is required by visiting the reference desk or calling the library, ext. 204. +Reference librarians will lead an informative tour of the library and demonstrate the library's website and catalog from 10:15 to 11 a.m. Fri., Feb. 9. Patrons will become acquainted with the array of library materials, resources and services. No registration is required. To attend, meet at the wooden sculpture inside the library's main entrance at 10:15. +The Grant Brimhall/T.O. Library and the Newbury Park Branch Library will host a onehour family program Sat., Feb. 10 to celebrate the Chinese New Year. The morning program will begin at 11 a.m. at the branch, 2331 Borchard Road, Newbury Park. The afternoon program will be at 2 p.m. at the main library in Thousand Oaks. Families are invited to celebrate the Chinese "Year of the Pig" by listening to stories and participating in crafts and activities while learning about Chinese New Year traditions.
