Senior Concerns gets new board member

Robert Shaw, former president and chief executive of Los Robles Hospital and Medical Center, has been elected to the board of directors of Senior Concerns, a local nonprofit social service agency.

It has provided qualityoflife services for special needs seniors in Ventura and western L.A. counties and informational support for their family caregivers since 1975.

"We are very pleased that Bob has brought his many years of healthcare and medical resource experience to our volunteer board," said Senior Concerns chair Karen Lindsey. "His expertise will mesh perfectly with our continuing emphasis on offering the most comprehensive and up-to-date care for the frail seniors and memoryimpaired participants in our various programs, as well as educational counseling for their caregiver families."

Senior Concerns operations include an Adult Day Center at 401 Hodencamp Road in Thousand Oaks, Ventura County's Alzheimer's Daycare Resource Center, the area's Meals on Wheels program, Senior Advocate's free counseling service, a Family Support Services program, Financial Abuse Specialist Team and the Bargain Boutique and Thrift Shop.
