Girl Scout Troop receives Silver Award

Members of Girl Scout Troop No. 243 received their Silver Award on Sun., Jan. 21.

The scouts are Courtney Adler, Michelle Bonds, Katie Canet, Meagan Forrest, Suzanne Jennett, Jessica Moxley, Sarah Shaw and Amanda Wood.

Requirements for the award include earning three project patches or studio 2B awards, the leadership award, the Cadette Girl Scout Challenge award and the Dreams to Reality patch. Each scout also spent 30 hours working on a project that benefited young girls in the community. Troop 243 hosted two recruitment events at local elementary schools where they transformed more than 75 girls into future "Girl Scout Divas."
