Man who withdrew cash at supermarket ATM is robbed in parking lot

A man who used the ATM inside the Vons supermarket at 2048 Avenida de Los Arboles in Thousand Oaks on Mon., Jan. 15 was robbed of his cash when he went outside the store to the parking lot.

A woman about 19 years old approached and asked the man for change for a $100 bill. She was described as unkempt "like a drug user," and was possibly of Middle Eastern descent, said Capt. Ron Nelson, sheriff's department spokesperson.

The 5foot6inch, 150pound female suspect was quickly joined by a heavily built Hispanic man who appeared to have a weapon in his pocket. The 6-foot-1-inch, 250pound male suspect began to threaten the victim, Nelson said.

"He said, 'Just give me all your money,'" Nelson reported. "The man gave up his money and the suspects left."

The man and woman were seen leaving in an early 1990s white Honda four-door, Nelson said. They drove south on Erbes Road.

The woman was wearing a pink shirt and blue jeans. The male was bald or had his head shaved, Nelson said.

Ventura County Crime Stoppers will pay up to a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and criminal complaint against those responsible for this crime.

Anyone with information may call (805) 494-TALK (8255). The call will not be recorded and the caller can remain anonymous.
