Real estate firm gets more praise

I have followed with interest your recent articles about the imminent demise of the Conejo Valley Days Parade due to a lack of funding. The small town parade is a uniquely American experience and an important part of our local culture.

It's one of those rare occurrences when our differences are set aside for a short while and civic groups, school bands, Boy and Girl Scouts, local businesses, politicians and spectators are all on the same level.

It's important that the parade survives.

The good people at Aviara Real Estate are to be commended for their generosity and display of community spirit. Having dealt with Aviara last year in the purchase of my home, I know that these are hard-working folks with families just like all the rest of us, and they certainly could have found dozens of other uses for that money.

But they chose to support our town, and I hope other readers will join me in letting them know how much that support is appreciated.

See you at the parade.
