Seniors needed to fill board positions The Goebel Senior Center Commission Inc., a nonprofit community service organization, is composed of 15 seniors, age 55 or older, residing within the boundaries of the Conejo Recreation and Park District. Individuals are needed who know about the needs and interests of older people and community resources. Commissioners volunteer their time and special skills, serve on committees and assist in programs that benefit seniors. Regular public commission meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 1 p.m. at the Goebel Senior Adult Center. The commission's purposes are to establish policies concerning the operation of the senior center to benefit all senior citizens in the area; to acquire and allocate funds; to establish priorities and coordinate the use of the center; to conduct research through surveys, questionnaires, interviews and other means to evaluate the effectiveness of the center and its programs; and to make recommendations and coordinate planning for programs, facilities and equipment to meet the needs of the center. The terms of five members of the commission will expire at the end of June.
