Elks will say thanks to police and firefighters

The Thousand Oaks Elks Lodge No. 2477 will host the 30th annual Law Enforcement and Firefighter Appreciation program on Wed., Jan. 24 at the lodge, 158 Conejo School Road, Thousand Oaks. The public is invited.

A social period will begin at 6 p.m. in the lodge lounge area. Dinner of barbecue ribs and chicken will be served at 7 p.m. Cost for the dinner is $12.

Awards will be presented at about 8 p.m. in the lodge meeting room. Elks members, the mayor of Thousand Oaks and the Ventura County supervisors will all present plaques to honor outstanding law enforcement officers and firefighters from the California Highway Patrol, Ventura County Sheriff ’s Department and the Los Angeles County Sheriff ’s Department.
