CRPD offers volleyball certification course

The Conejo Recreation and Park District will conduct a Southern California Municipal Athletic Federation Volleyball Officials’ Certification course. All individuals age 18 and older who are interested in officiating volleyball are invited to attend.

The course consists of three classroom sessions covering rules and officiating mechanics. Individuals who successfully complete the course are certified by SCMAF and are eligible to officiate in Conejo Recreation and Park District 2007 Adult Volleyball Leagues. Sessions No. 1 and 3 will be

from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tues., Jan. 23 and 30 at the Hillcrest Center, 403 W. Hillcrest Drive. Session No. 2 will meet from 3 to 9 p.m. Sun., Jan. 28 at the Thousand Oaks Community Center, 2525 N. Moorpark Road, Thousand Oaks.

SCMAF officials’ certification kits cost $12 and may be purchased at the first session. The kit includes an official rule book, practice tests, official’s guide and final exam. Bring paper and pencil to classes.
