      Newbury Park A male, 35, was reportedly in possession of a smoking device at 12:15 p.m. Dec. 6 in the 2100 block of Lavery Court. Christmas decorations, a water fountain and a parked vehicle were damaged on Dec. 7 or 8 in the 300 block of Havenside Avenue.

Cops will be watching for drivers under the influence
      "Avoid the 14," the 19day Ventura County holiday crackdown on drunk and drugged drivers, began Dec. 15 and will continue until New Year's Day. It's named for the county's 14 police agencies.
