Compromise on Rancho Potrero should have included restrooms

I'd like to show my kids the newly "saved" Rancho Potrero, but they'll eventually need to go to the potty, and it looks as though they will be out of luck.

It appears that some people want to prevent the construction of a public toilet at Rancho Potrero by denying the installation of utilities to the property.

It's utterly unfair to make Rancho Potrero inaccessible by preventing citizens from parking and- heaven forbid- heeding nature's call.

Therefore, let me make this clear: I want a potty at Rancho Potrero. After all, the horses have a potty. It's easy to see; you'll be walking around it time and again as you hike the trails.

I want a potty at Rancho Potrero. After all, the horse riders have a potty, plus a 20-acre eyesore of bare dirt, fences, parking and a hundred shade structures and small buildings.

I want a potty at Rancho Potrero. After all, the 200 homes across the street have potties, plus allday traffic, lights and amplified sound.

I want a potty at Rancho Potrero. To get my wish, I think that City Council members Claudia Bill-de la Peña and Jacqui Irwin will have to reverse their opposition to installing utilities to the property.

I'm sure that they don't object to a small building next to the road- and the 200 houses and the 20 acres of horse infrastructure. In fact, I think that these council members should champion this project and turn the ceremonial first shovel of dirt.

After all, that would be the fair thing to do. Chris Habecker Thousand Oaks
