Generous people make T.O. a great city
During this Thanksgiving season, I couldn't help but notice all of the charitable fundraisers and programs that our community participates in.
For example, in the Nov. 15 edition of the Acorn, there was a picture of the Kiwanis clubsponsored poker tournament, which raised funds for youth programs. Another picture showed the Many Mansions Bowls of Hope fundraiser. Then, after flipping through a few pages I read about the Santa Comes to Agoura and Beyond food drive. The next page featured an article about a local rock concert benefiting the L.A Union Rescue Mission. The page after that contained an article regarding the Holiday Homes Tour benefiting the Wellness Community.
Although Thousand Oaks has a few minor problems, our generous people and fantastic programs make our city a great place for everybody. Spencer Whitworth Thousand Oaks
