Maritime Museum presents monthlong holiday ship sale

The Ventura County Maritime Museum will present its annual holiday ship model sale throughout December.

A wide selection of sailing ship models is available, including decorator models and handcrafted oneofkind models such as singlemasted sailboats selling for $15 to $20 and 3-foot-long three-masted man-of-wars complete with case and table for $800.

All proceeds from sales benefit the educational programs of the museum.

Members of the Maritime Museum Ship Model Guild will be on hand every weekend this month to demonstrate the craft of recreating historically accurate, detailed ship models in miniature and will reveal the mystery behind how those ships get inside that shipina-bottle.

The museum is open daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Fisherman's Wharf at Channel Islands Harbor, 2731 S. Victoria Ave., Oxnard. For directions or information, call (805) 984-6260.
