The CVS/pharmacy at 2791 Agoura Road in Thousand Oaks will offer a flu shot clinic at 3 p.m. Wed., Nov. 14.

The cost for the shot is $30, $28 with a CVS/card or free for certain types of Medicare.

Annual flu shots have been found to be about 75 percent effective in preventing the flu. Those receiving shots don't have to worry about catching the flu from the shot because the vaccine is created from inactive flu viruses designed to produce antibodies and these viruses aren't contagious.
