Banyan Elementary receives recognition

Banyan Elementary School in Newbury Park has received the title of 2007 Honor Roll school from the California Business for Education Excellence Foundation and Just for the Kids California.

Schools receiving this distinction have demonstrated consistent high student academic achievement and have made progress toward closing achievement gaps among all their students.

Honor Roll schools are being recognized because they are on track to meet the goal of 100 percent grade-level of proficiency by the 201314 school year as required by federal law.
