JANN HENDRY/Acorn Newspapers BIG RIVALRY GAME- Senior quarterback Nick Owens and the Westlake Warriors host the Agoura Chargers on Friday night. OCHS (5-3) at Nordhoff (5-2-1)

Outlook: This game got a lot more interesting when Nordhoff won at Oak Park last week. Now, with a victory Friday night, Oaks Christian can creep right back into the race for the Tri-Valley League championship.

Nordhoff ran the ball 42 times for 165 yards against Oak Park. Although they only gained 3.9 yards per attempt, the Rangers stayed true to their identity on offense, and that allowed them to control the clock against OPHS.

Oaks Christian's defense has been exposed by good rushing teams this season, but with title hopes still on the horizon, you can bet defensive coordinator Clay Matthews will have his boys fired up for this contest.

Agoura (5-3) at Westlake (5-3)

Outlook: If this game were being played at Agoura, we'd go out on a short limb and guarantee a classic. The last two times these rivals faced off at AHS the games ended in seriously dramatic fashion- a last-second kickoff return for a touchdown by Westlake in 2004 and a fumble by Agoura at the goal line in overtime last year.

At Westlake, however, it's been a completely different story, one where the Warriors typically dominate the Chargers.

When the two squads last played at WHS during the 2005 campaign, the beatup Warriors resembled a MASH unit but still handed the Chargers a 4414 drubbing. All told, Agoura hasn't beaten Westlake since 1995.
