      After losing to Agoura High 14-3 on Tuesday, the Westlake High boys' water polo team felt down but certainly not out. Although the Warriors were no match for first-place Agoura, who clinched a league title with the win, Westlake is still very much alive for a postseason bid.

      Jordan Mannisto, PK, Westlake: Mannisto's 50-yard bomb as the clock expired lifted WHS to a 17-14 victory over crosstown rival Thousand Oaks. Doug Shumway, QB, Agoura: Shumway did it on the ground and through the air against Royal last week. The senior signal-caller ran 21 times for 169 yards and two touchdowns while also tossing a pair of scores.

Mannisto lifts Warriors' spirits
Westlake football team dedicates last-second victory over TOHS to fallen friend Kevin Hames

      Westlake High senior Jordan Mannisto called it the biggest kick of his career. Considering his resume, that's saying something. Mannisto's 50-yard field goal with no time remaining last Friday night helped lift Westlake (53, 4-1 in the Marmonte League) to a 17-14 victory at home over crosstown rival Thousand Oaks High (4-4, 3-2).

Team from Redwood finishes first
      On Sat., Oct. 20, the Redwood Middle School eighthgrade girls' volleyball team came in first place at the La Reina Middle School Volleyball Tournament. After 10 matches, Redwood beat Los Cerritos in a tight championship contest.
