Newbury Park

Two Santa Paula males, 27 and 29, were caught with stolen property and a substance believed to be methamphetamine at 12:10 p.m. Oct. 3 at a hotel in the 1300 block of Newbury Road. Some of the loot was allegedly stolen in a series of vehicle and residential break-ins the night of Oct. 1 in the Sunset Hills portion of Thousand Oaks. The suspects were also arrested for suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance.

The following subjects were arrested at the times, dates and places indicated for suspicion of driving under the influence: A male, 59, at 6 p.m. Oct. 15 in the 1500 block of Newbury Road; and a male, 49, at 11:09 p.m. Oct. 13 at Borchard Road and Michael Drive (also cited for child endangerment).

For allegedly driving a stolen vehicle, vandalism and suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance, a male, 37, was arrested in the 3700 block of E. Thousand Oaks Boulevard at 1:05 p.m. Oct. 9. At least one of the alleged violations occurred in the 800 block of Mitchell Road.

After she allegedly tried to use a bogus prescription to obtain medication at a grocery store on Reino Road, a female, 38, was taken into custody at 2:30 p.m. Oct. 10 in the 100 block of Heatherwood.

A male, 58, allegedly backed his vehicle into a building and caused significant damage at 2:45 a.m. Oct. 15 and he was arrested in the 400 block of N. Ventu Park Road at 4:30 a.m.

A vandal spray-painted graffiti in the 1000 block of N. Ventu Park Road the afternoon of Oct. 4.

A woman's purse was stolen at 5 p.m. Oct. 3 in the 500 block of N. Ventu Park Road.

Thousand Oaks

For suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance, a female, 27, was at 8 p.m. Oct. 17 arrested at Erbes Road and Fernleaf Street. She was also cited for possession of paraphernalia.

The following thefts from vehicles were reported: Two unlocked vehicles in the 900 block of Brush Hill Road on Oct. 11 or 12; an unlocked vehicle between 6 and 9 p.m. Oct. 15 in the 1100 block of Calle Margarita; on Oct. 8 or 9 in the 2400 block of E. Thousand Oaks Boulevard; and the night of Oct. 3 in the 1700 block of Aleppo Court.

A Thousand Oaks male, 20, was observed trying to force open the window of a parked car at 9 p.m. Oct. 5 in the 700 block of St. Charles Drive. Upon further investigation, 15 items that had been stolen in residential burglaries in the same vicinity (the St. Charles Oaks Apartments) were found in the suspect's apartment. He cooperated with investigators and admitted that he was responsible for multiple burglaries at the apartment complex.

At 2:20 p.m. Oct. 15 in the 600 block of Hillcrest Drive, a male, 20, was arrested for stealing property valued in excess of $400.

A male, 52, was allegedly staying at this parents' house on Calle Sequoia without their permission. When police arrived the morning of Oct. 17, he refused to leave and was taken into custody for resisting arrest. Later on, his parents declined to prosecute him for trespassing.

A laptop computer was stolen from a business in the 400 block of N. Moorpark Road around 4 p.m. Oct. 14.

Between Sept. 1 and Oct. 15, a known suspect stole $490 worth of merchandise from a retailer in the 600 block of W. Hillcrest Drive.

Property was stolen from a construction site in the first block of W. Thousand Oaks Boulevard between Oct. 1 and 15.

A vehicle parked in a lot in the 2000 block of E. Avenida de Los Arboles was "keyed" on both sides between 5 and 10:30 p.m. Oct. 15. The damage was estimated at $2,000.

Somebody pulled a wrought iron fence from its hinges and poured sugar into the fuel tank of a vehicle between 9 and 11 p.m. Oct. 12 in the 3000 block of Saffron Circle.

A vehicle in the 200 block of W. Hillcrest Drive was damaged by a vandal between 9:50 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Oct. 16.

A package left at the front door of a home in the 3000 block of Morningside Drive was stolen between Sept. 30 and Oct. 3.

Tetherball cords were cut at Park Oaks Elementary School on Oct. 16 or 17.

After she allegedly punched another person in the back of the head during an Oct. 5 argument on Radcliffe Road, a woman, 22, was cited and released for battery at East Valley Station at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 12.

After he caused a disturbance at a drugstore in the first block of N. Moorpark Road at 2:35 p.m. Oct. 15, a male, 30, was taken into custody on three arrest warrants.

For public drunkenness, a female, 38, was arrested at 10:30 p.m. Oct. 5 in the first block of E. Hillcrest Drive.

For drinking an alcoholic beverage in public, a male, 51, was cited and released at 2:45 p.m. Oct. 5 at Rancho Road and T.O. Boulevard.

Police reports said workers who were doing work on floors at a home in the 2800 block of Rainfield Avenue might be suspected in the theft of two wristwatches valued at $3,500. The loss occurred between 9:45 and 10:10 a.m. Oct. 2.

On three occasions between Sept. 18 and Oct. 2, the same person allegedly stole merchandise from the Albertson's store on Avenida de Los Arboles.

A shoplifter was caught at a drugstore the afternoon of Oct. 4 in the 200 block of N. Moorpark Road.

After a wallet was stolen from a gym locker in the 100 block of N. Moorpark Road the morning of Oct. 4, a stolen credit card was quickly used at a local gas station.

An undisclosed amount of cash was stolen from a home on Oakview Drive between Oct. 2 and 5.

Westlake/T.O.

At 8:22 p.m. Oct. 16 in the 3100 block of E. Thousand Oaks Boulevard, a male, 26, was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance and possessing a drug.

Someone at Westlake High School was caught allegedly stealing an item valued at $4 at 12:25 p.m. Oct. 11.

In the 1300 block of Breckford Court, property valued at less than $400 was stolen from a home between 5:25 and 5:30 a.m.

Two businesses were burglarized in the 4100 block of E. Thousand Oaks Boulevard between Oct. 12 and 15. No signs of forced entry were noted.
