Free workshop offered for teens' parents

The Red Oaks Center, a nonprofit adolescent counseling center in Thousand Oaks, will present a free parenting workshop for parents of middle and high school students,"Parenting Your Teenager," from 6 to 10 p.m. Thurs., Nov. 8 at the First Neighborhood Community Center, 31830 Village Center Road, Westlake Village.

Claire H. Telford, executive director of the center, and her staff will cover current problematic issues such as Internet use, drugs and alcohol, friends and siblings, cellphones and schoolrelated topics.

Complimentary refreshments will be provided from 6 to 7 p.m., with the workshop following from 7 to 10 p.m.
