Genealogists will learn about Colonial America

The Ventura County Genealogical Society Inc. will hold its annual seminar from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sat., Oct. 20 at the Ventura LDS Family History Center, 3501 Loma Vista Road, Ventura.

The guest speaker will be Linda Jones, the director of the McLean Family History Center in Virginia.

The seminar's theme will be Colonial America.

Participants will have access to a syllabus, handouts, exhibits, refreshments and lunch. Door prizes will be awarded, and new and used genealogy books will be sold.

Registration fees are $35 for society members and $40 for nonmembers. Fees include lunch and materials.
