I first heard about Amgen's downsizing in August, but reading the Sept. 27 article it really began sinking in.

Many of my friends have been employed by Amgen for years. I don't appreciate the way the news was broken to the employees. Many people have broken their backs to put the company and Thousand Oaks on the map.

Instead of generating a new plan for expansion to utilize more employees in different sectors and in turn generate more revenue, they decide to cut back in order to save the company some money? Who are the financial planners at this corporation?

We have to remember that the community of Wildwood consists of mainly Amgen employees who were given housing when the company first moved to T.O.

How will those people feel when they drive by the company while running daily errands?
