Sheriff's Blotter Newbury Park The following subjects were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and/ or drugs: a male, 30, at 8:34 p.m. Aug. 11 on the 101 Freeway at Ventu Park Road (also charged with possession of a controlled substance without a prescription); a female, 28, at 12:48 a.m. Aug. 15 in the 200 block of Lupe Avenue; a male, 34, at 11:35 p.m. Aug. 18 in the 100 block of Walter Avenue; and a male, 27, at 11:53 p.m. Aug. 21 at Lynn and Ventu Park roads. The following subjects were arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance at the times, dates and places indicated: a male, 18, at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 16 in the 600 block of Paseo Esmeralda (also arrested and charged with possession of a switchblade knife and for having two warrants for his arrest); a male, 38, at 10:15 a.m. Aug. 16 in the 600 block of Paseo Esmeralda; and a female, 29, at 11:25 p.m. Aug. 16 in the 2400 block of W. Hillcrest Drive. The night of Aug. 19 in the 1300 block of Newbury Road, a vehicle was burglarized. While the victim was sleeping between 1:50 and 2 a.m. Aug. 16, somebody removed a screen window and burglarized a home in the 600 block of Paseo La Perla. On suspicion of possession of less than one ounce of marijuana, a male, 28, was arrested at 3:15 a.m. Aug. 11 at Newbury Road and Giant Oak Drive. On charges of kicking a peace officer and possession of a meth pipe, a female, 19, was arrested at 2:23 a.m. Aug. 19 in the 1500 block of Newbury Road. On suspicion of domestic violence involving battery in Newbury Park at 9:30 a.m. Aug. 17, a male, 52, was arrested in Thousand Oaks on Aug. 19. Something was stolen from Kohl's the morning of Aug. 17. A purse was stolen between 9 and 9:30 p.m. Aug. 17 in the 500 block of N. Ventu Park. A vehicle was keyed in the 400 block of Jeanne Court on Aug. 11 or 12. Two vehicles were vandalized (smashed windows) the night of Aug. 19 in the 1700 block of Newbury Road. An apartment complex in the 1200 block of Ramona Drive was targeted with graffiti the night of Aug. 19. A gang graffiti incident took place at the Newbury Park Library between Aug. 17 and 20. Something was stolen between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Aug. 20 from a building in the 1500 block of Newbury Road. In the 3500 block of Gerald Avenue something was stolen the night of Aug. 20. A male, 46, allegedly violated a restraining order and stole property on July 27 in the 3900 block of Mayfield Street. At 12:53 p.m. Aug. 16 in the 600 block of Paseo Esmeralda, a male, 21, was cited and released for drinking alcohol in public. Thousand Oaks At the times, dates and places indicated, the following subjects were arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs: a male, 28, at 4:13 p.m. Aug. 16 in the 2100 block of Montgomery Road; a male, 23, at 9:37 p.m. Aug. 15 in the 400 block of Moorpark Road; a male, 45, at 12:56 a.m. Aug. 18 at Moorpark and Janss roads; a male, 27, at 1:53 a.m. Aug. 18 at Avenida de Las Flores and Prentiss (also for possession of a controlled substance); a male, 56, at 12:02 a.m. Aug. 19 at Janss Marketplace, off Brazil; a male, 28, at 9:02 p.m. Aug. 19 at Houston and Hillcrest drives; and a male, 19 at 1 a.m. Aug. 23 at Erbes Road and Marview Court. The following subjects were arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance at the times, dates and places indicated: a male, 35, at 5:47 p.m. Aug. 18 at Royal Oaks Park and Hampshire Road; two females, 18 and 44, at 8:51 p.m. Aug. 18 at Avenida de Las Plantas and Calle Tulipan (the 18-year-old suspect was also arrested on a charge of providing methamphetamine to a 14-year-old); a male, 22, at 5:46 p.m. Aug. 20 in the 200 block of W. Hillcrest Drive; a male, 31, and a female, 33, in the 900 block of Witherspoon Drive. Vehicle burglaries were reported at the following locations: on Aug. 15 four unlocked vehicles in the 3100 block of Los Feliz Drive; the night of Aug. 15 in the 2700 block of Autumn Ridge Drive; on Aug. 19 or 20 in the 200 block of Erbes Road; several unlocked vehicles the night of Aug. 20 in the 900 block of Puesta Del Sol; and Aug. 17 or 18 in the 2100 block of Colfax Court. A male, 38, was arrested and charged with selling substances believed to be heroin and cocaine at 3:14 p.m. Aug. 10 on T.O. Boulevard at Skyline Drive. The suspect was observed removing what was believed to be heroin from a hidden compartment inside the hood of his vehicle. After an accident in the 4700 block of Moorpark Road at 10:30 p.m. Aug. 15, a male, 31, was arrested on a charge of hit-and-run in Moorpark. The suspect initially denied being involved in an accident and claimed his car had been stolen. The investigating officer noticed redness and bruising on the side the suspect's neck, an injury consistent with seat belt trauma following an accident. As the questioning continued, the suspect became confrontational and uncooperative. When he refused to sign a stolen vehicle report, he was taken into custody. Ham radio equipment was stolen from an open garage between 7:30 and 9 p.m. Aug. 13 in the 800 block of Rancho Road. A suspect was arrested and charged with vandalizing several sites in T.O. with gang-related graffiti on Aug. 15. The incidents occurred between July 23 and Aug. 8. A shoplifter stole merchandise from a retailer in the 400 block of W. Hillcrest Drive the afternoon of Aug. 8. Two males, 18 and 19, were caught allegedly trying to steal something from Toys "R" Us at 1 p.m. Aug. 17. A third suspect may have been involved. For disturbing the peace (fighting in public), three males, two 41 and one 43, were arrested and charged at 2:56 p.m. Aug. 18 in the first block of E. Hillcrest Drive. On suspicion of being drunk in public, a male, 30, was at 8:38 p.m. Aug. 20 arrested in the first block of N. Moorpark Road. On a charge of disturbing the peace (challenging another person to fight), a male, 46, was arrested in the 3000 block of E. Thousand Oaks Boulevard at 8:16 a.m. Aug. 21. A graffiti vandal tagged an apartment complex on Aug. 16 or 17 in the 400 block of E. Wilbur Road. A home without signs of forced entry was burglarized in the 1800 block of Marlowe Street between Aug. 9 and 16. A fence was targeted by a vandal with spray paint the night of Aug. 16 at Vinton Court and Houston Drive. At 12:10 a.m. Aug. 18, unknown suspect(s) used fireworks to start a blaze in the bed of a truck, causing major damage to the back and cab of the vehicle in the 3100 block of Cumberland Court. A sound wall was targeted with graffiti between 5 p.m. Aug. 17 and 6:15 a.m. Aug. 18 on the 23 Freeway, north of the Avenida de Las Flores overpass. The rear window of a vehicle was smashed with a Mickey's malt liquor bottle between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Aug. 18 in the 900 block of La Cresta Drive. Something was stolen by a known suspect in the 2600 block of Florentine the night of Aug. 18. Somebody used deception to get into a home in the 900 block of Calle Pensamiento and then forced open a bedroom door, causing damage at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 19. Between Aug. 17 and 19, an apartment complex was tagged with gang graffiti in the 400 block of N. Oak Tree Lane. A U.S. flag was destroyed at a home in the 800 block of Calle Haya the evening of Aug. 19. A set of golf clubs was stolen from an open garage on Aug. 18 or 19 in the 1700 block of Bates. Someone broke into and burglarized a church in the 900 block of Warwick Avenue during daytime on Aug. 20. The night before, the same church was targeted with graffiti. Two businesses were broken into and burglarized between midnight and 7 a.m. Aug. 21 in the 2500 block of Willow Lane. A known suspect at 8:15 a.m. Aug. 20 disturbed the peace in the 3000 block of E. Thousand Oaks Boulevard by challenging another person to fight. On suspicion of shoplifting at a store in the Janss Marketplace, a female, 77, was cited and released at 1:04 p.m. Aug. 22. On a charge of urinating on the outside wall of a drugstore, a male, 40, was recently arrested in the first block of Hillcrest Drive. A female, 49, was arrested on suspicion of public drunkenness at 1:51 p.m. Aug. 22 in the 100 block of E. Thousand Oaks Boulevard. A male, 18, was cited and released for possession of alcohol where he worked at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 22 in the first block of W. Thousand Oaks Boulevard. In the 1300 block of Norman Avenue, a vehicle was maliciously vandalized between Aug. 17 and 21. The damage was estimated at $935. A wallet was stolen from a purse in the 400 block of E. Avenida de Las Arboles the afternoon of Aug. 21. Items were stolen from a garage in the 100 block of Hill Ranch Drive between Aug. 11 and 22. The following subjects were arrested and charged with drinking alcoholic beverages in public: two males, 26 and 29, the early afternoon of Aug. 16 in the 600 block of Avenida Del Platino; four males, 28, 40, 45 and 54, at 7:35 p.m. Aug. 17 in the 1400 block of Thousand Oaks Boulevard; a male, 26, at 11:30 p.m. Aug. 17 in the 600 block of Paseo La Perla; and a male, 40, at 11:41 a.m. Aug. 20 in the 700 block of E. Thousand Oaks Boulevard. T.O./Westlake Somebody stole items from a supermarket at 4:15 p.m. Aug. 16 in the 3900 block of E. Thousand Oaks Boulevard. A male motorist, 56, allegedly hit a bicyclist at 10:44 a.m. Aug. 16 on T.O. Boulevard at Via Colinas and fled the scene. He was later arrested in the Pacifica Plaza parking lot, east of Meadowgate Street. Two males, 18 and 23, were arrested and charged with entering a home through an unlocked upstairs window in the 1100 block of S. Westlake Boulevard and stealing a TV at 9:37 a.m. Aug. 17. They were arrested at 10:50 a.m. at Westlake Boulevard and Evenstar. A male, 22, who had been pulled over for a paritally obstructed rear license plate, didn't have a driver's license. About one pound of marijuana was found in his vehicle. A subsequent search of his home led to the discovery of more marijuana, a scale, pay/owe sheets, a firearm and brass knuckles. A gas-powered trimmer was stolen from a front yard in the 3100 block of La Casa Court between 8 and 8:20 a.m. Aug. 17. A business was broken into the night of Aug. 17 in the 4500 block of E. Thousand Oaks Boulevard. A female, 34, was robbed the afternoon of Aug. 20 in the 3900 block of E. Thousand Oaks Boulevard. A mailbox in the 4000 block of E. Thousand Oaks Boulevard was vandalized between Aug. 18 and 20. A business was the site of grand theft between Aug. 1 and 13 in the 4500 block of E. Thousand Oaks Boulevard. Police RSS feed |
