Art Weekend Winedowns continue through September
      Art Weekend Winedowns, a showcase scheduled for each weekend in August and September, will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at Four Seasons Hotel, Two Dole Drive, Westlake Village. California artists and Central Coast winemakers will collaborate on each showcase. Malibu orchid grower Zuma Orchids will display flowers in the lobby.

      Four Ventura County students spent the summer doing hands-on research projects as Amgen scholars at U.S. universities. May Lou from Westlake Village and Joseph Raleigh from Newbury Park each performed research on different topics at UCSD.

Financial center for women to open at CLU
      The California Lutheran University School of Business has received a $40,000 grant to start an online financial center for lowincome and minority women. The grant will fund the first two years of the California Institute of Finance Information Center for Women, starting with the fall semester.
