Project Playhouse display coming to Thousand Oaks
      HomeAid Los Angeles Ventura's seventh annual Project Playhouse display will be from Sat., Sept. 8 to Sat., Oct. 20 at The Lakes shopping center, 2200 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd., Thousand Oaks. Tours will be conducted from noon to 6 p.m. weekends for $2 per person.

Residents enjoy working with dogs

      Training that relies on herding dogs' instincts for rounding up stray livestock out on the range is now used to keep pet dogs well-adjusted. "Herding is one of the best things people can do together with their dog," said Janna Duncan, a dog trainer who offers weekly classes in Moorpark and Malibu.
