More than 40 California Lutheran University staff members volunteered to spend a half or full day of work this summer helping to build two Habitat for Humanity houses in Oxnard's Villa Cesar Chavez.

The employees worked Aug. 1, 8 and/or 15. Departments represented are admission, campus ministry, church relations, financial aid, office of the president, registrar, student life and study abroad.

They worked to complete one house co-sponsored by CLU and another one sponsored by a church by helping to hang siding, patch drywall and refurbish machinery.

Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry that invites people of all backgrounds, races and religions to build houses together in partnership with families in need.
