Tribal sounds resonate with local residents
      About 70 people enjoyed an experimental evening of peace and power, blending Native American practices with mindful exercises led by Dennis Merritt Jones, director of OneSpirit Center for Conscious Living in Simi Valley, and Mike Willis, a Native American chiropractor who resides in Newbury Park.

Rock concert coming to Holy Trinity
      Holy Trinity Lutheran Church will present a free concert from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Sat., Aug. 11 in the church courtyard, 1 W. Avenida de Los Arboles in Thousand Oaks. Contemporary and Christian rock will be performed. Scheduled to entertain are the Shades, the Camarillo Praise Band, the Priority Male Barbershop Quartet and Story to Tell with Hunter Buchanan.

Temple sponsors social for seniors
      The Greatest Generation of Temple Adat Elohim, with the support of Sisterhood and The Jewish Federation, hosts a Tuesday Social each week from 2 to 4 p.m. at the social hall of the Temple, 2420 E. Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks.

Ancient scroll exhibit inspires local church members
      Faith meets historical evidence as seen by local church members when they recently traveled to San Diego to view the Dead Sea Scrolls at the Natural History Museum. According to a museum brochure, these artifacts are "one of the greatest archaeological finds of all time.
