      Thursday evenings in August, the Grant Brimhall/Thousand Oaks Library at 1401 E. Janss Road will present the Courtyard Serenade. The new program, sponsored by the Friends of the Thousand Oaks Library, features a musical guest each week from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.

August activities abound on L.A.'s Natural History Museum agenda
      The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County will offer a variety of activities in August. The museum is at 900 Exposition Blvd., Los Angeles. Tickets are $9 for adults, $6.50 for students and seniors and $2 for children ages 5 to 12. Admission is free the first Tuesday of every month. Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekends and holidays.
