The Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area will host "Living a Dream: Paramount Ranch Reborn" at 2 p.m. Sat., July 28 at the National Parks Visitor Center, 401 W. Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks.

Robert Hertz, son of the previous owner of the ranch, will show a multimedia presentation of a behind-the-scenes look at how his family restored the site and helped transform it into the western town that it is today.

Hertz lives in Malibu and is a published author, sculptor, set builder and oral surgeon.

Doors will open at 1:45 p.m. Parking and entry are free.
