With heavy hearts, the Conejo Valley Little League Juniors AllStar team took to the field this past week and competed like champions. These young men, their coaches, parents and fans, were coping with the death of a close friend and teammate, 13-year-old James Street of Thousand Oaks. Street died following a skateboarding accident on July 4. More ... I only met James Street once, but it was an introduction I'll never forget. T.O.'s Brian Strausburger is on deck. Playing in the District 13 11-year-old tournament, T.O. American won the game 5-2 and advanced to the championship round against Moorpark on Wednesday. More ... Her invention may not be as monumental as Benjamin Franklin's, Thomas Edison's or Henry Ford's, but Westlake Village resident Vicky Peterson is banking that her new idea can lead to prominence, too. Peterson is one of 103 competitors on the Golf Channel's new reality series "Fore Inventors Only," which premiered Tuesday. More ...
