CLU students receive fellowships
Students at California Lutheran University were awarded Swenson Summer Fellowships, allowing them to complete research projects focusing on various topics in science and technology.
The 11 students were selected by a committee comprised of CLU science faculty members. The selections were based on the students' overall performance in physics, math, bioengineering, biology and exercise science/ sports medicine, as well as written proposals. Applicants were required to have a minimum 3.3 grade point average.
Fellowship recipients will work with a CLU faculty mentor throughout the summer to complete their research.
Among the students awarded the fellowship are Thomas Estus of Simi Valley, Garrett Mosley of Westlake Village and Terri Kimmel of Camarillo.
Other fellowship recipients are Grante Norte of Moreno Valley; Josh Lee of Fresno; Laura Morris of West Linn, Ore.; Michael Calkins of Holly, Mich.; Nate Mihoch of Herlong; Lorraine Mutyaba of Kampala, Uganda; Sam Walton of Sacramento; and Tiffany Linville of Ventura.
