Wilson lied about the facts
The Thousand Oaks Acorn on June 14 published a rebuttal by Ms. Helena Mecartea to previously published criticism by Chris Coleman on regarding Acorn coverage of the Joe Wilson monologue at CLU.
Ms. Mecartea felt the need to defend the Wilson/Plame position on her claim to be a "covert CIA agent" as well as her testimony on possible involvement in his selection for the fact-finding mission to Niger. Ms. Mecartea stated that Mr. Coleman's position was baseless and could not identify sources for his statements.
Ms. Mecartea and the Acorn should be aware of the article by Kenneth R. Timmerman, dated June 1, 2007, published in NewsMax (www.newsmax.com/ archives) titled "Senators Rebuke Joe Wilson Claims." This article covers a "scathing report by the Senate Select Intelligence Subcommittee . . . blasting former ambassador Joseph Wilson IV," noting that Wilson misled the public and the intelligence committee about his trip to Niger in 2002. It further states that Ms. Wilson/Plame's earlier sworn testimony was false.
Others have suggested that it was perjurious (and) this apparently slipped by Special Counsel Fitzpatrick. Mr. Timmerman's analysis of the Senate's findings are totally opposite the conclusions of Ms. Mecartea.
