Trustee denies she made disparaging remarks about Nancy Reagan In a recent letter to the editor written by Gina Conti, she accused me of slandering Nancy Reagan at her recent appearance at the Reagan Library. Mrs. Conti's comment about a comment I supposedly made was not only unwarranted but untrue. I never made any statement against Mrs. Reagan. I was impressed that she took the time to recognize the children during the "We the People" celebration, and I know that they were impressed to have seen her. My only comment about Mrs. Reagan as she passed by the window was that she looked very fragile. If that is an insult, then I am guilty. I would never say that her visit or her attention to children was silly. I think she is an exceptional lady and I resent being accused of a statement I never made about her. Check your facts, Mrs. Conti, before you make accusations in public. Dorothy Beaubien Thousand Oaks |
