Young scientists receive awards

Two area students received awards from the Air Pollution Control District at the 2007 Ventura County Science Fair last month.

Philip Shao of Westlake High School earned first place for his project, "A Correlation Study of Global Temperature Change."

Kirklann Lau of Sequoia Middle School in Newbury Park received third place for "The Effects of Greenhouse Gases on Climates of the Earth."
