Baseball playoffs not for the faint of heart
Top three ranked teams in state in Division I bracket
      All four Marmonte League baseball teams that made the playoffs believe they have a shot at winning it all. And why shouldn't they? On Friday afternoon the CIFSouthern Section Division I postseason will begin. Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park, Simi Valley and Royal high schools will represent the Marmonte League.

Softball postseason arrives
     BRINGING HEAT- Brittany Reynolds and the Marmonte League champion Thousand Oaks High softball team opens the CIF-Southern Section Division I playoffs at home Friday against Saugus. First pitch is set for 3:15 p.m. In Division III action, Tri-Valley League champion Oaks Christian will host a wild-card qualifier. La Reina hosted Bonita in a Division III wild-card game on Wednesday, with the winner set to travel to Arcadia Friday.

      The secret weapon has finally been exposed. It's no mystery that the Newbury Park High baseball team is one of the county's finest. During the regular season the Panthers went 20-6 and finished in second place in the Marmonte League standings behind Thousand Oaks.

Westlake, Oaks Christian swim teams win CIF titles
Warrior girls take Division II championship; Lion boys reign supreme in Division III
      High school teams from the Conejo Valley made quite an impression during the CIF-Southern Section Swimming Championships last weekend at the Belmont Plaza Olympic Pool in Long Beach. Anchored by strong performances from Jackie Brousseau and Aislinn Smalling, the Westlake High girls' squad captured the Division II championship.
