Former Kmart not a good place to open a Home Depot
      I am writing to express my extreme concern over the proposed construction of a Home Depot on Hampshire Road in Thousand Oaks. There are many issues which I feel are very detrimental to the aesthetics of Thousand Oaks/ Westlake Village, to the well-being of its residents, to the environment and to the traffic safety of the community at large.

Extends a welcome to Home Depot
      I have lived in Thousand Oaks for 40 years and am excited to have a new Home Depot developed at the site of the old Kmart. The fact is that Kmart used to be there and retail is the right use for this site. This building has been a white elephant in our community for years.

      California's Food and Agricultural Code requires that any dog suspected by animal control of being vicious is entitled to a hearing to determine its fate.

Resident praised for helping after dog attack
      On April 17 my puppy, Rosie, and I were attacked by a pit bull named Blue on our greenbelt in Westlake Village while taking our usual daily walk. There is no way to describe the terror, shock and trauma that occurred in trying to save my baby's life, feeling helpless to get someone to respond to our cries.

      Drivers should always look in all directions. If your car is stopped and you accelerate and hit something directly in front of you, then you are absolutely at fault.

      The recent letters stating that evolution is a theory proved beyond any doubt, that it is unquestionably "a fact" and that it's capable of being tested scientifically prove its validity is untrue. A growing number of naturalistevolutionary scientists privately question the validity of the theory.

Council should listen to T.O. residents
      I am writing to express my concern about the way our City Council is shutting people down from voicing their concerns. As a private citizen it hurts me to see this happen. Free speech is a right under the First Amendment. It is time for people to rise up and be heard. The City Council should not have their minds made up for all council meetings as far as the agenda is concerned.
