County educators get their own Hall of Fame

Nominations are being sought countywide for the first annual Educators' Hall of Fame dinner and awards ceremony this fall.

Nominees can include teachers from preschool through university. While the awards are intended to honor retirees, posthumous nominations will be considered as well.

Hall of Fame nomination forms can be obtained online at www.vceh.com.

All nominations are due by Sat., May 19.

The nominee must have served as a teacher, instructor, professor, counselor, administrator or in some other capacity that has impacted education in an exceptional fashion.

This person must have served in the education field for at least 10 years in Ventura County. The nominee may also be a resident of the county who has served the field of education at the state, national or international level.

The Hall of Fame dinner will be held in tandem with the already established Ventura County Teacher of the Year awards.

The Ventura County Educators' Hall of Fame is a privately governed and privately funded organization and is not affiliated with any public or private educational institution.
