YMCA hosts Day of Prayer breakfast
      The Southeast Ventura County YMCA will host its seventh annual prayer breakfast on the National Day of Prayer from 6:50 to 8:30 a.m. Thurs., May 3 at the Hyatt Westlake Plaza, 880 S. Westlake Blvd., Westlake Village. Prayer, scripture readings and song will be part of the celebration.

New credit card to allocate percentage to church charity
      The Society for the Propagation of the Faith, a Pontifical Mission Society, announced the availability of the World Missions Visa Card. Through the credit card program, 1 percent of net purchases will be donated to the Propagation of the Faith.

Anonymous donor gives $725,000 to St. Max to reduce construction debt

      A local resident gave $725,000 to St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church in Westlake Village to pay off a large portion of the congregation's construction debt, announced the Rev. Patrick O'Dwyer after Easter masses earlier this month.
