A "Hire a Hero, Hire a Vet" job fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thurs., May 17 at West Oxnard Job and Career Center, 635 S. Ventura Road, Oxnard.

All job seekers are welcome to participate. According to organizers, the fair is intended as an opportunity for veterans who are looking for work to meet employers and find positions.

The fair is sponsored by the county of Ventura Human Services Agency and the state Employment Development Department.
