Community Counseling Services Center open to Conejo residents
The Community Counseling Services Center at California Lutheran University serves as a resource and counseling office for area residents.
Provided by graduate students in the university's marriage and family therapy program and certified professionals, the services have been designed to create a supportive atmosphere for those seeking help with various personal issues, including the care of children with disabilities.
The center recently hosted an open house to allow local mental health professionals, school counselors and others to learn about the services available to the public and the university's postgraduate programs in psychology.
"We are here to help the community just as we are here to teach and train the students who want to become certified professional counselors," said Christopher Christian, PhD, director of the center and an assistant professor of psychology.
