Inspiring poetry contest
      The Christian Fine Arts Society is offering a $1,000 grand prize in a special religious poetry contest. There are 50 prizes in all totaling more than $4,000. There is no entry fee. The entry deadline is Sat., April 21. Poems may be on any subject using any style as long as there is a spiritual inference.

Temple hosts Tuesday Social
      Temple Adat Elohim will host a "Tuesday Social" for those 60 and over at 2 p.m. Tues.,April 17 at Temple Social Hall, 24020 E. Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks. The featured speaker will be Lisa Bock, outreach chairman for the temple. She will entertain with her presentation of "Chasidic Tales.
