Earth event to save wildlife

Save Our Ring Of Green and Save Open Space-Santa Monica Mountains will hold an Earth Day celebration from 1 to 4 p.m. Sat., April 28 at the Mission Courtyard in the Gardens of the World, 2001 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd., Thousand Oaks.

Mountain lion expert Ray Sauvajot will give a talk about the future of the mountain lion in the Santa Monica Mountains. Other guests include environmental activist and former state Assemblymember Fran Pavley and Richard Francis, co-founder of Save Agricultural and OpenSpace Resources.

Cost is $50 per person. RSVP is due by Sat., April 14. The ticket price for the event will include lunch and a free entry in a raffle to win a signed canvas lithograph donated by Fred Stone, painter of horses. There will also be a silent auction.

The event will raise funds to help save the Mount Clef Ridge Wildlife Corridor from further development.
