Concerned about inspiring new scientists

2007-03-29 / Letters

This letter is written in support of the Discovery Center that is being proposed in Thousand Oaks. It concerns me that there is such a lack of engineers and scientists in the United States. When jobs in the sciences become available, the applicants who are citizens of the U.S. are few.

It is my contention that there are budding scientists who just don't realize the interest that is lying dormant in them. I think with fun and exciting scientific experiences easily available there could be a dawning in many more young people. I think the Discovery Center would help make this happen. This would be for the betterment of us all. Margy McDonnell Westlake Village
