Church to present program on protecting innocence
The Christian Education committee of the United Methodist Church of Westlake Village will sponsor a presentation, "Saving Childhood," from 3 to 5 p.m. Sun., April 1 in Alton Hall at the church, 1049 Westlake Blvd., Westlake Village.
The speaker will be Eileen Green, coordinator and teacher of parent education at the Conejo Valley Adult School.
The program is based on the book "Saving Childhood: Protecting Our Children From the National Assault on Innocence" by Diane and Michael Medved. The discussion will suggest ways to give children a "secure, optimistic and reasonably sheltered childhood."
All parents, guardians and interested persons in the community are invited. The cost is $10 for individuals and $14 for couples.
To register or for more information, call the church office at (805) 497-7884 or (818) 889-5431.
