Local youth called to the Torah
      Hanna Madell was called to the Torah as a bat mitzvah on March 10 at Temple Etz Chaim. She is an honors student at Los Cerritos Middle School and the daughter of Gina and Dale Mandell of Thousand Oaks. Aaron Friedman will be called to the Torah as a bar mitzvah on Sat.

Second Night Seder at Temple Adat Elohim
      Temple Adat Elohim will celebrate Passover with a Middle Eastern Second Night Seder at 7 p.m. Tues., April 3 at 2420 E. Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks. The public is invited. This desert experience will re-create ancient Jewish times and the Israelites' sojourn through the desert during the Exodus.

Study group will discuss Dyer book
      A new women's spiritual study group will meet at 7 p.m. tonight, Thurs., March 22, at St. Patrick's Episcopal Church, One Church Road, Thousand Oaks. The group will discuss the book "The Power of Intention" by Wayne Dyer and look at its themes of co-creating one's life with God through a Christian filter.
