Curves kicks off annual food drive
Curves of Newbury Park and Thousand Oaks will be participating in the Curves Food Drive to benefit local food banks.
To celebrate the generosity of the community, Curves is waiving its normal services fee (with restrictions) for any new member who brings in a bag of nonperishable groceries and joins on or before March 10.
Last year more than 248,000 new members joined Curves during the food drive, which collected 11 million pounds of food for communities around the world.
Others wishing to donate may drop off nonperishable food items at Curves Monday through Saturday during business hours throughout March.
"The Curves Food Drive promotion is always exciting," said Lindi Pacifici, owner of the Newbury Park and Thousand Oaks clubs. "We have a chance to help so many people at a time when the food banks are lowest, while we assist more women in reaching their fitness and weightloss goals. It's a win-win situation for everyone, and we're very proud to participate."
