Jr. Gardeners win awards

Three local youths won awards at the recent Junior Gardeners Table Setting Show held at the Timber School house at the Stagecoach Inn in Newbury Park.

The theme, "You Are Invited, Ventura County Style" gave the young designers opportunities to create table settings with fresh and dried flowers in various formats.

Kylie Vincent won the Junior Class award for youths under 8 with her beach table setting.

Kyla Vinson received Intermediate Class awards for an Irish-themed miniature table setting and a Cub Scout-themed setting.

Camille Duckett's beach classthemed design won a silver tray for Best of Show.

For about 20 years the Conejo Valley Garden Club has supported the Junior Gardeners, which includes youth ages 5 to 18, by providing ribbons, awards and judges for the youth flower shows.
