Wants help identifying owner of abandoned dog

As I entered the Thousand Oaks dog park on Mon., Feb. 26, I noticed a dog in the adjacent enter/exit cage who was a very upset, but beautiful, medium brown pit bull. I immediately thought that someone might have abandoned the poor beast. My dog, Layla, and I went into the park and played, walked, ran, had fun, and then started to leave.

As I suspected, the pit bull was still alone in the same cage. I noticed a park ranger vehicle outside the park and asked if she knew about the dog. She did and also assumed abandonment, and told me the animal shelter was on its way.

The dog was a medium-sized pit, a few years old, and probably abused.

I plead with anyone who knows the low life who left this animal on his own to provide his or her identity (or any useful information) to the Thousand Oaks Police Department, or to Conejo Recreation and Park District, or to the animal control folks. Frank Clark Thousand Oaks
