Name of new coffee shop has some people steaming with anger

      Little donkeys known for bellowing as they carried heavy loads of coffee up and down the mountainsides of Kona, Hawaii, are pictured in the logo of The Bad Ass Coffee Company that recently opened in Thousand Oaks. Some residents have deemed the company's tribute to the often cantankerous pack animals unacceptable.

Air show to feature Thunderbirds
      Gates will open for the Point Mugu Air Show at 8 a.m. Sat., March 31 and Sun., April 1. Flight demonstrations will start at 10 a.m. The Air Force Demonstration Squadron, the Thunderbirds, will headline the show. Other attractions include Bruce Abbott and Star Raider Jet-Powered Space Shuttle and Rick Perkins Firecat-Aero Vodochody L-39 Albatross.

Christian film group awards Rotten Bananas
      Movieguide, in partnership with the Christian Film & Television Commission, recently announced the Rotten Banana Awards for the 10 Most Unbearable Movies of 2006. "We chose these movies because of their anti-American, anti-Christian worldviews," said Ted Baehr, founder and editor of Movieguide.org.

      The Ventura County-based Every Now and Then Theatre's December 2005 radio drama adaptation of Charles Dickens' "Christmas Carol: A Ghost Story," has been awarded a 2006 International Communicator Crystal Award of Distinction. This marks four international awards, the most the troupe has ever received for a single production.
