      I saw a flying insect the other night. As spring nears, more and more flying insects begin to occupy the night. Come summertime, they're everywhere. I hate when flying insects get into my home. I must destroy them, as their buzzing and their flybys over and near my family's heads drive me crazy.

Lending a hand to Manna
      KIWANIS HELP OUT AGAIN- Bob Rickards, left, and Don Bielke help build new shelves for the Conejo Valley food pantry, Manna. With more storage space, Manna can provide food to additional hungry people. Also helping construct the shelves were Kiwanis members Tom Pizza, Dick Wilson, Gary Lansdon and Bob Engler.

Credit Union donates money to food bank
      Members of the Ventura County Credit Union donated $6,326 last year to FOOD Share Inc., a local food bank, topping 2005's total by more than $700. In addition, more than 300 pounds of nonperishable food were collected in barrels placed in each office.
